This week, we had a patient come in with a temperature of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit. For those of you who don't know, that is the cut-off temperature for increasing the likelihood of someone having COVID-19.

The last few months have given some of us the opportunity to metaphorically go through the baggage of our life and clean some things out we really don't need, and maybe add some things in we really could use!
This week's installment of "Overheard In The Office This Week" was actually something that was not heard at all! Let me explain.
Lots of people are out working in the yard these days, which can make you sore! Ever wonder when you should use ice versus heat?
The question caught me off guard - not because I didn't need to go, but most of the time, it is me trying to figure out how to make people more comfortable, not the other way around.
It's a toss up between this question and "What type of bed should I get?" for the most commonly asked question in the office! As you have probably already surmised, there is no "one size fits all" answer to this question!
We have all seen our share of pain these last six or eight weeks. If you are like me, I have handled some of it well and some of it poorly. However, my encounter with my patient helped remind me that pain is a very real part of life, and stepping forward and dealing with results in the best outcome!
Many times, patients come in with an acute problem in one area, only to discover when they apply the trigger point ball full spine stretches and exercises to their whole body, some other area actually shows up quite tight and weak.
You can do it anywhere! If you find it difficult at first, keep at it. You will see improvement faster than you think. It is an easy way to train both balance and core muscles without a lot of movement.
Life changing events like this don't come around everyday (thankfully!), but they do give us an opportunity to makes some real and lasting changes.
