"Does He Need Eyebrows ? "
I sure hope you are having a good week so far ! It is hard to believe it is the first week in November already. Like most of you we are praying and looking for a smooth week as we move past this tumultuous time in history !
Sometimes when things are so serious we forget to slow down and enjoy the little stuff. Last week with Halloween coming up we had several opportunities to do just that. One opportunity came when a little girl (about 3 or 4 years old ) came in with her dad and older brother. She sat in her dad's lap while I worked on her brother. As I was walking around the table with the buffer (vibration instrument) I noticed she had on big rubber boots with rainbows and unicorns, I am pretty sure she had a unicorn mask on as well. Apparently rainbow unicorns are big among the little girl demographic. She was watching me quite intently as I used the buffer on her brother and I stepped over and put the buffer on her boots. She grinned so big you could see the sides of her mouth go above her mask. I asked her if she was going to let her brother wear her boots (he is eleven and I am sure had no interest in rainbow unicorn boots) and she grinned even bigger if that is possible!
The other opportunity came towards the end of the week. Dr. Sue was pretty quick to get some candy up to the office for the holiday, but I was a little slow on bringing up a pumpkin, in fact it didn't show up until Friday. I came in and set it on the copier and told Liz she needed to put aside everything she was doing and get our pumpkin a face. That seemed like a reasonable request to me! I went on to start seeing patients and a little while later I looked out and saw Susanna working drawing on the pumpkin and taking an impromptu poll asking "Does he need eyebrows ?" Apparently they answer is yes ! All I can say is do we have awesome staff or what ?
Sometimes All We Can Do Is.....
This year, has given us all a lot to chew on, and there is a good chance the next few weeks and months will have more. Sometimes all you can do is keep chewing, and appreciate the little moments God gives us. So, take a cue from my son Josh's puppy:
**Keep Calm and Chew On*!***
